Talking About Balloons & Sustainability
A quick reminder for balloon & party professionals…
As sustainability conversations grow, it’s important that we talk about balloons honestly and responsibly.
Balloons are designed for celebration, not permanence. While professional latex balloons are made from natural rubber latex and can biodegrade under the right conditions, that doesn’t mean they are “eco-friendly” or suitable for release.
Safer, clearer language focuses on:
Using professional-grade products from reputable manufacturers
Reusing frames and structures where possible
Reducing waste through thoughtful design
Encouraging responsible disposal after events
Avoid vague terms such as “eco-friendly”, “100% sustainable” or “environmentally safe” unless you can clearly explain and evidence them.
Clients value honesty far more than bold green claims.
